Why don't young people vote?
The Huffington post article "Why dont young people vote" was written Hanan Esaili. This articles states that Millennials are not voting as much as they should be and in 2012 only 21.3% of millennials voted but in 2014 the number grew a little to 26% voting. This generation has the power to be the most educated and know more than anyone in the past about politics because of the internet yet not many "young" people are interested in politics. Hana says the reason for that is simply that the issues that politicians waste lot of time on smaller insignificant issues instead of the bigger issues millennials are interested in.
I agree with some of Hanans points like the fat that we the young people are not lazy and that we should be more informed than most people. While I do not follow politics as much as other people might I do try to stay aware of what is happening and am planning on voting in the next election when I am old enough to do so. I believe that politics need to focus on the bigger issues that young people care about and need to do anything possible to get that 74% of people who did not vote to vote because if you are old enough to vote should be doing so as an American
